Fruits of Koch's labors - GOP tax scam.

I've done a lousy job of keeping up over here, I have a draft about the ultimate defeat of the malicious Anti-Democratic recall petition against La Plata County commissioner Gwen Lachelt.  But its been on the back burner due to more pressing obligations.  Though I received the following from Karl Hanlon and it seemed like something that really should be shared far and wide.

Lost in the deafening roar of the outrage over the human rights abuses on our nation's border was the passage of an unfortunate anniversary – one we cannot let pass without notingYesterday marked the six-month anniversary of the day the Trump Tax Scam was signed into law. A law Scott Tipton voted for.

After six months to review, I have bad news: it’s worse than we thought.

This backwards scam is a massive tax cut for billionaires & corporations that raises taxes on millions of middle class Americans. It’s going to increase the deficit by $1.9 Billion which lays the groundwork for Republicans in Congress to attack vital programs like Medicaid and Social Security. Tipton’s vote for this will hurt us here at home.

 {BALLETS MUST BE AT COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE TUESDAY, JUNE 26th:}

We live in challenging times where Washington has lost sight of basic American values. But, we can change that.

So please join us now and together we won’t let Scott Tipton off the hook. We’re only five days out from the close of the primary, and I am fired up to hold him to account for every vote he’s taken that hurts Coloradans in favor of lobbyists and his corporate buddies.
CONTRIBUTE to Karl Hanlon
Together we can do this,
Karl

Why Karl Hanlon is running for 3rd Congressional District, Colorado
~~~~~~~~~~
Friends:
Over the last several months, I have spoken with many of you about the challenges we face in western and southern Colorado. In those conversations, the thing I’ve heard over and over is that you are feeling ignored by your elected representative. This is sadly unsurprising.
Congress is full of career politicians who are more concerned with fundraising for their next election than actually doing the job they were elected to do. It’s time for us to take Congress back.
Scott Tipton has had seven years in Congress to deliver results for his constituents — and he has utterly failed. We face challenges here in Western Colorado that are burying our economy, killing our businesses, and whittling away at our children’s future. We can’t wait any longer. It’s time for new representation.
It’s time for independent, innovative leadership to take on health care costs, to have an honest conversation about energy and the environment, to take meaningful action on opioid addiction and the mental health crisis, and to work for the thoughtful preservation of our agricultural heritage. I’ve been speaking up, and now it’s time for me to step up.
I plan to put voice to our concerns as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Colorado’s Third Congressional District.
I grew up in a ranching family, put myself through college and law school, and spent the last twenty years working for landowners, business owners and local governments finding creative solutions to complex problems.
I have helped build private-public partnerships, negotiated complex and contentious water rights agreements with the Front Range, negotiated loans and grants to rebuild failing public infrastructure, and as a school board member and parent fought to support our children and educators by campaigning for bond elections that renovated our schools and built housing to retain our best and brightest teachers.
My whole career has been dedicated to doing the hard work to make the places we live better.
Unlike the people who claim to represent us in Washington DC at the moment, I commit to you that I will show up, listen to you, and look you in the eye even if we disagree.
I am asking you to stand with me as I face the biggest challenge I have ever faced: taking on an entrenched, dysfunctional Congress filled with career politicians who have forgotten why — and who — they serve.
Stand with me, and we stand together.
Karl J. Hanlon
