The Democratic Caucus is Tuesday March 6th, yes in a few short weeks. Here’s some important official information from the La Plata County Democratic Party.

YES, we still have caucuses.
And Yes, we still have primaries in non-Presidential years.
All of us who love the grassroots participation of a precinct caucus,
we still get to do that.
Here is the schedule if you decide to participate:
§ March 6: Precinct Caucuses (your participation stops here unless you wish to try to get elected to further assemblies)
§ March 17: La Plata County Democratic Assembly (Fort Lewis College Noble Hall)
§ April 13: Third Congressional District Assembly, probably a hotel near the First Bank Center
Here is the crucial difference between caucuses and primaries:
§ To participate in your precinct caucus, you must affiliate no later than January 8, 2018.
§ To make sure you are at the correct Caucus location, your voting address must be up to date by February 6,2018

Caucus Locations La Plata, March 6, 2018 Caucus, 7:00 - 9:00 pm.
§ To participate in the Primary Election on June 26, you need not be affiliated.
§ To change your Party affiliation, or update your address:
§ Go the County Clerk’s Office in person.
Unaffiliated voters will receive a voting packet with both a Democratic and a Republican ballot in it. However, they may vote only one ballot, or both will be thrown out. Everyone who is affiliated will receive only the ballot for the party she or he is registered for.
All La Plata County Democrats, please participate to the extent possible. This is the year for a sea change – we can’t tolerate the votes cast by Scott Tipton any longer.
He consistently votes in favor of Donald Trump and his billionaire cronies, votes which harm the 98% of us who operate on a budget and try to live lives marked by respect for all, fiscal responsibility, sustainability, and environmental awareness.
